David Sears is no longer on the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots team and the new Creative Director is Jean-Sebastien Decant. The development team is still hard at work to deliver the next installment of the revered Tom Clancy series and more details on the game will be revealed at a later date. There's no word on how this may affect plans to release the game next year.
You HAD a team who was going to do R6 justice, but all you can see is $ is in your head.

He was wanting to being back the older R6 franchise.

Exactly. Why make a fantastic game when a craptastic game will sell just as well? Graphics and marketing is everything thesedays, gameplay sadly isnt.
This however is a very short-sighted view. Some companies still recognise the longterm value of producing quality titles. Sadly they are in a minority but at least they exist.
Maybe they read the incredible backlash from that preview video? People hated the direction this game was going, it looked like a cookie cutter COD game. Whatever happened to the intense realism & tactical decisions that were required on the old R6 games.... =(
