You're right. I was mostly thinking of people who complain about LEGO having lost its way. I personally don't believe that they've stopped encouraging creativity. In fact, one just needs to visit any LEGO-branded store to have his or her creative juices flowing.

Hell take a few of the Harry Potter mini-figs and with all the old Knights stuff and I could build you Helmsdeep (if I still had access to the Lego shed at Downtown Disney Orlando, god I miss that job).

This is the most underwhelming LEGO set I've ever seen. I actually would have considered getting a set if it was full LEGO scale and came with the Minecraft guy and Creeper minifigs, not those little one post things...

I'll be saving my money for the LOTR sets.

So the only way to get LEGO back to its root is by tricking them into making sets based on franchises which expect you to build things?
