Exactly. I think a lot of people are moaning for the sake of it. I've completed the beta and used the Companion Scroll and it was pretty cheesy - a cute little creature that runs around picking up gold. But it only takes a second to grab the gold yourself. Personally I'm all for the idea of creating a companion pet system and I don't think they'll be charging extra for it - more likely they'll make it a higher level ability and will make a profit off rarer pets being sold through the marketplace.
If they start micro-transactions for cut features then I too will be offended but I'll wait for that to ACTUALLY HAPPEN before moaning about it.
