im glad blue participated on the blackout. wish more tech sites did the same thing. even ones not based in the US. i guess they think SOPA/PIPA wont affect them if they are based outside the states. |

In a barely functioning modern society like ours, the Internet *should* still have more power than the ruling elite. It currently does, but I contend there are many control freaks that resent and despise the Internet and what it represents. They would gladly ruin it only for personal pleasure.

In addition to Wikipedia, Reddit, and Google, I was surprised at so many sites I visited today participating in the black out in their own way: Raw story, Ars Technica, Wired, XKCD, Vimeo, Pressthink.org, Wordpress, and boingboing. And those were just the sites I visited. I'm sure there were lots more. It was pretty awe-inspiring. I didn't realize so many sites had signed on. |
