I've played it for around 3 hours now. It started off quite slow but when it finally picks up pace it feels like old Sam is back again. I'm not a fan of the new generic modern warfare guns, I'd much prefer the old fashioned SS skins instead. Obviously it's a Serious Sam game so forget about any plot whatsoever. Croteam barely setup one from the start of the game which is absolutely fine for Sam. If you are a fan of the old games you'll probably like the new one but even though it feels like Sam it hasn't yet given me that frantic feel the original did. Maybe after playing for a few more hours it'll kick in but the original hit hard right from the first level on. Starting off at a slow pace might turn off some anxious gamers who want to jump right into hordes of monsters attacking you at the same time as SS1 and SS:SE were. I do think a demo would benefit them for selling this especially after the horrible game that was serious Sam 2 years ago. At least there is no signs of that game at all in the new one Thank GOD!
If I recall correctly the first levels in Serious Sam were actually pretty slow too, it wasn't until the later levels that things really picked up on a grand scale.

Something about playing this makes my eyes go wonky. I've never had that happen before from playing shooters.

Yes! This is what Sam fans wanted, not the consolized mess that was Sam 2.
