Star Wars: The Old Republic CE Detailed

The Star Wars: The Old Republic Website offers a new trailer from BioWare's upcoming MMORPG called "Bringing Down the Hammer." Here's word: "The Hammer, a powerful prototype battle station developed by the Republic, was believed to have been destroyed during the war. However, this terrible weapon has re-emerged in the hands of the Advozsec, who are using it to conquer unaligned worlds in the Outer Rim. Setting out to stop the Advozsec’s campaign, an Imperial strike team assaults the Hammer and battles to take control." There's also another new feature on The Art and Making of The Old Republic on one of the elements in the collector's edition of the game, and TORWars also offers a Hands-On With ‘The Art & Making of SWTOR’ Book and a SWTOR Collector’s Edition Unboxing video.

If any of you want into the next beta weekend, but aren't in already, use this code now:

8W7F-22G3-4EM6-RKSP

Just go to "my account" at the top of the page. Oh, and it expires in 25 minutes. God speed.

Well I'm not going to use it because I've been in all the weekend ones so far and the last letter they sent out said not to use any other codes or it'll screw things up. But thanks anyay.

Same here. Did you see where they said that if you were in last weekend's (11th-13th) that your characters won't be wiped for the upcoming? I was psyched about that.

Hoping I can hit lvl 20 and get a mount...I had about 10K credits when I quit last weekend, and now I'm glad I didn't blow them on anything.

Thanks I want to give it another weekend to just test out the Imperial side and base my final decision before I pay off the CE.

I was in last weekend's beta and leveled to 13. Glad they won't wipe characters so I can see a bit more before release.

I really hope they add mod support soon so someone can fix the terrible UI. I couldn't find any apparent way to move, resize, or adjust alpha transparency on any of the elements--not even the hotbars. Well, I could resize the chat window, but I couldn't move it from the upper left hand corner of the screen. Another thing that annoyed me was that all windows opened on the left side of the screen, unless something was already opened on the left. But after closing the left window, the right window would then move to the the left and disorient me. There were also some windows which would open on top of other windows and keep focus so you had to close them in order to see things underneath. There are only 4 hotbars and they all have predetermined positions--2 on the bottom of the screen (one above another) and one for each side of the screen. Oh, and I think the most obnoxious of all elements was the large menu bar on the top/center of the screen that you couldn't hide! The bar opened windows that you could either bind to a key or find in a menu so it was completely unnecessary. I never place anything at the top of the screen like that, so it was very distracting.

Even though I didn't like Rift, I think they have had the most customizable UI of any MMORPG I've seen without the use of mods.

I got invited for last weekend's beta, but I had no time. I would have played it if it was longer and for the long Thanksgiving 2011 weekend.

It's not 12, it's 20+, and no, it won't be any smaller.

They've also mentioned in that forum post that if you've previously downloaded the client, you'd need to download the entire thing again for next weekend's beta. heh

Good thing, I didn't download the one from a couple weeks ago then! Well, I downloaded its downloader, but that's is small.

Invites are out. Once you confirm and try to login you get to fill out 5 security questions. And if you're using the previous beta client, it looks like an additional 12 gig download.
