Spartacus: Vengeance return date, poster revealed. As I mentioned a while back, I enjoyed the original Blood and Sand well enough, but wasn't that worked up either way about the sequel, especially without the late Andy Whitfield, but the Gods of the arena prequel was so good, I am now totally on board again.

Dark Souls

It is the hardest game I've ever played and I've beaten Deadly Towers. You either need a large amount of patience, a lot of skill or something in between both to complete it. It's very rewarding and enjoyable when things are going well but when you make a few mistakes and things pile up it can really break your will.

As someone else put it awhile ago, the game does not a give fuck about you the player at all. At no point will you get helpful visual tutorials or any of that stuff you see in modern games. The combat system is fairly robust, the graphics/environments are incredible and the storyline is incoherent but that's not why people play anyway. It has a lot of replay value, very unique multiplayer implementations and some very addictive gameplay that challenges you constantly to overcome it. It's basically everything that modern gaming in 2011 is not.

It's the best $60 you can spend this year
