The Digital Combat Simulator Website now offers digital distribution of the English edition of DCS: Black Shark 2, their combat flight simulation sequel, also offering an upgrade for owners of the first DCS: Black Shark for a 50% discount. Here's word on the game, which they say requires an internet connection for multiplayer play (including over a LAN):

The Ka-50 "Black Shark" is a unique and deadly single-seat, Russian attack helicopter that has seen combat in the Northern Caucasus. It combines a high performance dual rotor system with a deadly weapons payload of guided missiles, rockets, bombs, and a 30mm cannon. The Ka-50 is also unique in that it has an ejection seat.
The activations regenerate, dude. The hate against the old Starforce is well deserved, don't get me wrong, but a one time activation is hardly draconian. And if it pisses you off that much buy a license but just install the pirated version. Eagle Dynamics and the Fighter Collection self-publish all their products, so the money goes straight to them, and the DCS series is of such high quality and so unique in today's world of dumbed down console shit that they deserve the support.
Anyone who has even a passing interest in military aviation is fucking themselves if they pass up on DCS simply because of the DRM.
