Grand Theft Auto V Rumors [Oct 26, 2011, 9:53 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
Kotaku has some rumors about Grand Theft Auto V, the just-revealed next installment in Rockstar's open-world action series. They say "a source familiar with the game" tells them it will be set in a fictionalized version of Los Angeles. They also report "hearing from multiple sources" that the game will feature multiple playable characters.

A new iteration means new generation, as opposed to San Andreas and Vice city being supposedly same generation as GTA 3. I am wondering what this installment will bring? cutting edge facial expressions?
GTAVC and GTSSA were by very far my favorites... probably SA a bit more because it was so vast and i do enjoy the hoodrat ghetto shit (menace2society etc.)
GTA4 tho.. wasnt feelin it - i finished it but it was way more meh than i was expecting.. i really thought SR2 >>> GTA4 ... and with SR3 on the way, GTA5 isnt really a huge deal for me at this point

Honestly I thought of San Andreas when I saw the font choice for V on the teaser site, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Not sure why so many of you are worked up over RDR not being on PC. I had it on Xbox, it was the usual repetitive Rockstar "gameplay" (grind). You're not missing much.

The PC port was done by Rockstar New England, formerly known as Mad Doc Software, the makers of such gems as Empire Earth 3 (Metacritic: 50 avg. and as low as 16) and Star Trek: Legacy (56, 30). Really competent fellas.

I am a gamer, I have all current gen systems, I prefer these games on console, but also have all the GTA games on PC. I have played through all of the games on all systems.

They already have a fictionalized version of Los Angeles for the GTA series, Los Santos. I think it would be more interesting if they did a city they've never done before, but I guess the San Andreas setting provides a few iconic cities all in driving distance of each other.
Anyway, I'm just glad they're not waiting for the next console generation. Maybe MS and Sony won't really take 10 years as they've always said, but they're still 2 or 3 years off.

Because reskinning said assets will be a hell of a lot cheaper and faster than starting all over from scratch.
