"We've been talking a lot about that actually on and off over the years," said Ray Muzyka, BioWare CEO.
"It's an IP, it's a setting that we're really passionate about, and we still are. Both Greg and I were big believers in the IP.
"We're just looking for the right way to deploy it."
"We have a lot of different projects now on a lot of different platforms, and you might see some of that [Jade Empire] in the future. You never know.
"We don't have anything to announce on it right now," Muzyka added, "but it is a franchise that's near and dear to us."

I never really understood how people could love ME1 but hate ME2. Remember, ME1 wasn't exactly a hardcore RPG to begin with. It had more stats than ME2, sure, but 99% of the gameplay consisted of shooting dudes in the face. It was always more of a shooter than an RPG. ME2 stripped away some of the stats but it was still a shooter first and foremost, just like the original.

Your probably right. I'm waiting for ME3. It will be the true test on EA's affect on Bioware. We know the debacle that was Dragon Age 2. If ME3 comes along (their second title made entirely under EA's control) and sucks as hard as DA2 did, then I will be convinced that Bioware's good days are behind them and likely never pick up another one of their games so long as they were connected at the hip with EA.

I would love to see another game based on the Jade Empire IP. However, now that EA owns BioWare, I doubt that the resulting game would be worth playing, especially on the PC.

If they could fix the combat, I'd love to see another Jade Empire. Fortunately there have been a large number of games since then that have nailed 3rd person brawling. The sub-par gameplay was what kept the first game from becoming a classic. But it was great as far as characters, writing, artwork, player choices and setting.

Amazing story, setting and characters but the console designed gameplay, level design and inventory was crap. Thankfully there are some mods that help remove some of the painful console designs.
I might have to give this a shot then.

It's really not a very good game.
