Sigh, every time they release a new Win version they go on like a broken record about boot times. "Sure you'll still have to wait 45 seconds while your hard drive grinds away in the background loading crap, but we showed you the desktop 2 seconds faster !!1!"

Windows 8 Features Vastly Improved Boot Times.

With the RAW POWER that computers have now - they should boot damn near instantaneously.

Slightly misleading, since it's a "boot" from a new hibernation feature that's just not available in that exact fashion in Windows 7.

Still, so far the news for Win8 is pretty good. I especially like the hyper-v inclusion in the desktop client.
