I can think of several indie games that $12 would go towards that would be much better spent.

Oh, come on, I was as disappointed by DA2 as anyone, but that's a little harsh. It may not be a worthy successor to Origins, but it's easily worth $12.

Maybe if it was the only game to play in the universe but thankfully it's not. There are better ways to spend $12 and get more enjoyment for your money.

Dragon Age 2 isn't really worth any amount of money considering you can spend it better elsewhere, it is a very piss poor effort from a supposedly AAA studio.

Eh, speak for yourself. I found the heavily recycled environments and wave-based enemy spawns to be completely game-breaking. Just sucked the fun out of the game completely. Considering that the vast majority of DA2's gameplay consists of combat, this is problematic.

I agree 100% on this. I actually enjoyed the new combat system.

I predict the Monday announcement will be for DLC. I'd prefer a patch that lets you turn off the radar, though. That thing is so ridiculously overpowered, it renders almost all of the stealth augmentations useless.

Speaking of which, Amazon has it for 34.99 right now. And that's the digital download version. Just snagged it, and it's now downloading through Steam.
And also, if any of you haven't picked up Metro 2033 yet, it's a steal at $5 on Steam.

I'd love to see the sales numbers on DX. It's not a perfect game, but it is damn good, and waaaaaay better than I ever would have guessed it would have been. Definite GOTY contender. Patches have also been nice, cutting my load times from 40 seconds down to 10-15.

Also, according to the in-game news ticker, there's some sort of announcement on Monday.

Gonna have to break down and get Metro (finally) too. God knows when I'll get around to playing it, though.

Are you kidding? At $12 they should be paying me to play it.

Wow, sure am glad we have Origin now as a competitor to Steam - as no one ever has any sales outside of Steam!

Game of the Year, and quite frankly, Game of the (past) Decade. If it wasn't for the truly fucking miserable boss fights, I'd call it the best game ever.

I'll MAYBE buy the eventual "Everything and the kitchen sink!" edition for 10 bucks. IF it ever comes back on Steam. Other than that, I just lost all interest in everything to do with Dragon Age. The continued smug, self-righteous cuntery of Bioware in how they made all the right decisions with DA2, and how it was all worth it because of how many new fans they added (and never mentioning the fact they LOST twice that number) just totally rubs me the wrong way.

At $12.00, the core game itself is not particularly appealing. On top of that, due to all the preorder crap, I have to immediately think about how this is only the $12 "slim" edition and that it will want to push various DLC items on me, further disinteresting me in it.

Meanwhile, The Witcher 2 appears to have been a much better RPG and don't get me started on the joy I am having with Deus Ex: Human Revolution..

My wife may pick up the $12 version, but there is a good chance that I will still pass. I guess I should not complain about a decent game that is $12, but there are just so many, many other games that I would rather be playing than DA2. And that's fairly sad given that I generally consider myself a fan of he original game...
It's not bad, just not particularly special. It's a terrible sequel.

GamersGate UK has Civ V for £6.78, which is about $11-$12 USD.
