Isn't this the same old story with Ubisoft? They put in draconian DRM then a couple weeks later they say "OOOPS! Sorry folks! It'll be removed with a patch soon enough." as if that will pacify the sheeple.
At this point I'm convinced they actually plan this "apology" out in advance as damage control for the launch day DRM bullshit.
Ubisoft has pulled this nonsense a bit too many times for me to continue to take it at face value. The way I see it is that either the studio is in such bungling disarray that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing, leading to goofball crap like this, or they are doing it purposely to garner extra publicity by making much ado about removing idiotic DRM that never should have been there in the first place.
