Was there ever a playable demo for the first game in Windows/IBM PC?

It's not like you need a demo for Revelations. It'll be pretty much the same game as AC2 and Brotherhood. If you liked those two, you'll like Revelations. If you didn't like 'em, you won't like this one either.

I won't touch the PCDRM version with a ten foot pole, so I'll get it on the PS3.

I don't need a demo for the AC games, that's what my consoles are for. I can rent games, and demo them there. The problem with Ubi for me is of course their DRM. I don't like it and because of it I downgrade the value of any game that has it to $10-$15 MAX. They may want to charge $60 but it's not worth much more than $10 with their DRM in place. That's how I gauge DRM now, I apply a DRM penalty to the price depending on how offensive it is to me. It could be the best game ever made, but if it has some nasty DRM like Ubisoft's I won't buy it without at bare minimum a 75% off the MSRP price.

I second this. Never thought you could destroy a game series with the second game till Ghost Recon: AW and DA2.

I'm still waiting for a good sequel to Ghost Recon. The original was amazing. Huge environments, open gameplay with actual strategy/tactics. Great selection of weaponry and quite a surprising amount of mission variety. Punishing gameplay but only if you played it like Call of Duty. God I miss Ghost Recon.

I'll pick it up as long as the DRM is the same as AC:B, I don't need a demo. The AC games have steadily improved in quality with each iteration.

God I wish somebody would hire away Ubisoft's dev talent. Everything they turn out is gold, I can't just not buy it. But their management... jesus wept.

If I recall, these games never got demos on the 360 or the PS3 either until the last one and even that was just a multiplayer beta. I thought that's what this was supposed to be as well.
