Sounds like they need to add bonus XP for completing missions undetected. I think only a couple missions in the leaked build offered that.

Unconscious NPCs can only be awoken by other NPCs.

I hope I can ghost through the game like when I play the Thief series. Wouldn't bet on it however.

I was able to ghost through the first level. Unfortunately, there's no benefit to doing so. You miss out on the XP for taking guys out and you miss out on the loot you find on their bodies. It's also really hard to hack computers while NPCs are walking around because the game doesn't pause and the hacking minigame is pretty lengthy. Based on the leaked press build, the best way (in terms of XP and loot) to play through the game is to knock everyone out. You get more XP for non-lethal takedowns and you get the same objective bonuses that you'd get if you ghosted your way through each mission.

Yeah, after melee knockdown. I don't remember if they had been discovered by another NPC or not. I may have to go try that again to see.

Was that after a melee knockdown?

And did any other NPCs discover them?

I've had some wake up and come looking for me again.

You can knock people out with a melee attack too, so darts aren't strictly needed in this one. The knockouts only last about a minute or so though.

They do? I've never had them wake up unless they were discovered.

That's actually cool. I was replaying BatmanAA last night and thinking it was rather silly that he can incapacitate (but never kill) all these people, but none of them ever wake up.

I wonder if he reads them, or if it's just for show.

I still hope it's possible to play through without a kill. Can't imagine it's that difficult to knock unconscious/subdue someone until the authorities arrive. In the beginning the devs mentioned you could do it and recently someone mentioned, it's no longer possible.

It always struck me as odd, there was never enough Tranquilizer darts in vanilla Deus Ex to complete the game. Would have been nice to boost the damage with a aug/skill to make it useable in end game.

In the future, it's only possible to kill people, not stun them.

Nope, I meant 21. We have to wait three extra, drawn-out, long, painful days.

That's my guess. But it's the first time I've used them.

I'm a little worried, with GMG being based in the UK, that we might not get our steam codes until the international ship date, which I think is like 3 days later.

That seems pretty likely, yeah. I imagine they'd be selling UK codes?

Not a huge deal, and for $29 I can wait a couple more days, but I admit, it's hard waiting.

edit: I think my first play through will be sneaky bastard/bare minimum kills, and the second will be guns blazing!
