Practically no developer is ever going to simply repackage a game exactly as it was a decade ago and have the only change be that it uses modern graphics. It just won't happen.
Actually, MS is doing exactly that with Halo Anniversary. It's the exact same game as Halo 1, only with better graphics. The first two Serious Sam games received the same treatment. In fact, there are tons of games getting this treatment, though most of them are simply "HD" upgrades (widescreen support + higher resolutions). Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, Tomb Raider, Street Fighter, Silent Hill, Puzzle Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, Beyond Good & Evil, Earthworm Jim, Stranger's Wrath, Munch's Oddysee... HD remakes are all the rage these days. If people weren't willing to pay for them, then publishers wouldn't be making so many.
I'd pay $50 for a remake of Tribes 1 with modern graphics, in addition to having the community's script functionality integrated and the Blaster and ELF swapped out for the Shocklance. Hell, I'd pay $50 for a remake of System Shock and Deus Ex too.
You forgot God of War.
The one game that the most people have been clamoring for, however, which is a remake of FF7 for the PS3, Square Enix is too fucking stubborn to make. No, keep raping the FF franchise to death, Square Enix. With FF11 (MMO. yay...), FF12 (sorta okay), FF14 (an absolute fucking travesty of an MMO) and FF13 (really not even FF anymore), you're doing GREAT fucking work at murdering that franchise.
