Your interpretation of how people purchase games(based on forum conjecture) doesn't really apply here. Taking Steam down a peg at the expense of consumer choice and setting a precedent for publishers playing whack a mole with competitors isn't acceptable.

I do not hate Steam I just think it's too big. If GOG was the only way to get half the games that come out on PC I would complain about that too.
Your position doesn't reconcile with your comments in my opinion but I don't really care if you hate Steam or not.
