New Total War Game in The Works [May 18, 2011, 10:32 am ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
A new installment in the Total War series of strategy games is already in development at The Creative Assembly, reports Eurogamer. They confirm that work began on the next Total War game began before they completed Shogun 2, though the setting of the new game is not being revealed at this time. They also have comments from TCA's Mike Simpson and Tim Heaton expressing satisfaction with Shogun 2, and describing the "long tail" sales pattern of the franchise.

Nah, two different types of gameplay there. I bet a Total War: WW2 European and Pacific campaign would be awesome.

I am thinking that the true strength of the TW series lies in the pre-horse and Musket eras, so I don't know how good anything like 'WW1:TW' or 'Space Marine:TW' would be. Formations, something the Total War formula is built upon, are largely rendered moot by long range repeater rifles.
My guess is a fantasy world a la 'Warhammer: Mark of Chaos' or the 'Warcraft:Total War' mod. but we shall see..

I hope they remake Rome: Total War, personally. That is still an awesome game although I love the Europa Barbarorum (http://www.europabarbarorum.com/) mod more than the original.

This series died to me during Empire TW unfortunately.
