The Walking Dead & Fables Game Plans

AllThingsDigital has a confirmation of last month's rumor of plans for a The Walking Dead game, saying Telltale is working on a series of games based on the zombified graphic novels and television series, also revealing they plan another comic adaption: Fables. They don't have any detail on the games, as the article focuses on Telltale's business model. Thanks Gamasutra.

Agreed. Survival Crisis Z was the closest to that style of gameplay, but I want full-on 3D in a GTA-style city where you have to venture out and get supplies, rescue people, drive zombies out of controlled territory, etc.

No one has managed to make a decent zombie game yet. Zombie shooters? sure.. but a true, Zombie Survival game? Not even a single game has come out with that type of gameplay.

So now we're over saturated with zombie arcade games, and it's getting stupid. I want a George A Romero style zombie survival game, where you're basically fucked.

The Walking Dead game? Yeah, it already came out years ago, it was called "Left 4 Dead".

Try again.

Actually, it went back further than that. Try Flesh Feast in 98.

That reminds me of my Marvel trading cards. I collected the entire non-special-card '93 Marvel Masterpieces (beautiful cards), but they're only worth about $30!

Not to mention the 3 or so Spiderman Maximum Carnage comics that I got when I was young that my mom wrote my name in.

No idea how they're going to turn Fables into a game. My guess is that you'll play as Bigsby and solve relatively minor cases involving other fables.

Probably, and that sounds good to me. Fables was one of the last graphic novels I ever read before I gave up on the comic book hobby completely. I only read the first two collections, I believe.

The Walking Dead, and Fables? Wow, two comics they will no doubt ruin as games utterly, and Walking Dead is not that great of a comic to begin with.

Fables... they can easily go so wrong trying to turn that into any sort of action game.

I actually got an e-mail today saying it was now available. Moot point for me since someone gifted me a Steam copy a couple weeks back so I haven't followed up on it, though.

Am 1/2 way through the last available hardback (book 6). Neat story, but I'm surprised at how little ground has been covered.

I hope it's more like the first/second episode and nothing at all like the other shitty ones that followed it.
