Battlefield 2142 Patch [Feb 15, 2011, 3:37 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
The Battlefield Blog announces the incredibly long wait for the version 1.51 patch for Battlefield 2142 is over, and the new patch is now official (thanks Silvanus). The new version removes the game's DRM and adds the maps Operation Blue Pearl, Yellow Knife, Molokai, and Strike at Karkand along with extra account security, a fix for NVIDIA drivers "to solve tinitus visual effect," and a fix for a hit detection bug. As noted on the EA Forums, the new patch is the same as the final beta patch, so folks with that do not need to download anything new. For everyone else they offer several download locations, and the patch is also mirrored on AtomicGamer, Fileshack (thanks Charles), and Gamer's Hell.

Tinnitus...visual?
It was a bug related to AA in the Nvidia drivers IIRC.
I would use one of the Battlefield blog links for Downloading the big 1.95GB patch.. So far nice free maps & made free Northern Strike expansion pack.

I don't think they messed with any building geometry so people can still glitch inside stuff.

Glad to get this patch! With no DRM maybe it will go on GOG 
For those of you new to this game, I think this game shines best in a round of 32 players on the Gibraltar map. There used to be a server that played only that map and was capped at that player count.
Project Reality, unfortunately, made me stopped playing this but I still have fond memories.

I think they were gonna wait 2-3 weeks before the Steam release to make sure no problems popped up post patch..
