New Bungie Copyrights

Semi-retired internet sleuth supererogatory (aka superannuation) tweets about new (well, recent) copyrights filed by Bungie for Seven Seraphs, Osiris, New Monarchy, and Dead Orbit. A later tweet also notes that Bungie has also registered domains for three of those terms. Thanks Examiner via VG247.

I think the story was misreported as you can't Copyright a name, you can trademark it instead. Even so how can you trademark a mythological name such as Osiris.

I believe you trademark names for a certain context, so although Osiris is in the public domain, they can trademark Osiris in the context of computing as long as they are the first too. IANAL.
