meh i guess it's totally subjective, i've given vegas 10 hours of my time, and it won't probably see another hour.

You only played it for 10 hours? Out of curiosity, how far did you actually get? Did you even make it to the Strip? How far you played, the difficulty on which you played and whether or not you played in Hardcore mode makes a big difference in your opinion of the game. If you played on Normal difficulty, Casual mode and only saw the starting town and Primm, I can somewhat understand your perspective. The game does start off slower than FO3 and if you don't play on Very Hard Hardcore, you won't fully appreciate the game's improved balancing and new features. 10 hours in an RPG is almost nothing, especially when a thorough playthrough takes around 100 hours.

I've played 3 through about 10 times.

That doesn't really make any sense to me. The quests in FO3 are mostly linear and you don't really have much control over your ultimate goals. FO3 doesn't have that many sidequests either. I don't see how you could replay it 10 times when the experience would pretty much be exactly the same every time.
