This entire console generation is dead to me at this point.

There were some great console games this generation, I have to disagree with you. I think there have been some huge disappointments as well, your list is pretty accurate there but that's nothing new in the industry. Uncharted 2 was great, Red Dead Redemption, Alan Wake was highly underrated, Assassin's Creed 2 and so on. There were plenty of gems. I think it's more accurate to say that there were a bunch of turds that received way more financial success than they deserved.

As an aside though FFXIII was one of the worst games I have ever played. It is the highest production value piece of garbage ever produced.

Demon's Souls!

On monday I watched the football (soccer) match Barcelona - Real Madrid on SkySports Euro or some-such cable/satelite TV channel.

For the uninformed/uninterested this was/is probably one of the most watched sports events on the planet. As such its adspace is probably very very expensive.

During the half-time commercials there were 5, I shit you not FIVE DIFFERENT commercials for the Nintendo Wii....

It was the only commercial in the 15 minute period that ran more than once.....wait since they were all different then I guess none of them aired more than once.....

I shudder at the thought of the $$$ Nintendo coughed up for this....
I have a nifty blue line!

This entire console generation is dead to me at this point. Resident Evil 5 killed it...Kinect and Move took gigantic shits on its grave.

What a disgrace this generation has been. I could go into in-depth detail spanning many paragraphs providing a dozen examples. I'll make two quick points of the many I want to, Modern Warfare 2 was balls and Final Fantasy XIII has made me regret ever starting playing the series back in 1990. Then everyone decided to copy Nintendo...

Microsoft's Kinect Selling Twice As Fast As The iPad.

Faulty assumption based on dubious data. Also hilarious timing on the Move announcement. I'm sure "oh yeah well we sold 6.3m in 30 days" is coming soon.

Your example is in reverse. Cherry tomatoes are much cheaper than turkeys so of course they will see faster.

The Kinect is much cheaper than an iPad, so of course it will sell faster. They do both have something in common, show the average person the product and they want it (hint: the average person does not read Bluesnews) It means both are a hit but people are price sensitive.
