The Bizarre Bazaar

IndustryGamers has a confirmation from Activision that they are looking for a buyer for Bizarre Creations, the U.K.-based racing game developer they acquired in 2007. "Over the past three years since our purchase of Bizarre Creations, the fundamentals of the racing genre have changed significantly. Although we made a substantial investment in creating a new IP, Blur, it did not find a commercial audience," an Activision spokesperson tells them. "Bizarre is a very talented team of developers, however, because of the broader economic factors impacting the market, we are exploring our options regarding the future of the studio, including a potential sale of the business."

I love racing games, but I admit I'n not the best racer, but I can usually make it through most racing games. Split/Second was my favorite racing game to come out this year. Who knew Disney would publish such a great arcade style racing game. I played Blur. It actually got to the point the some of the races were so hard, I quit playing. I refuse to play on easy to get past anything. It was a pretty game, but I think even though it was geared as an arcade style racer, it was just too hard for most people. I didn't play much MP in Blur. So little I don't remember much about it. I also feel Activision failed the marketing of this game. Bagging on Mario Cart was not a good way to draw an audience, nor was using Danica Patrick, IMHO.

I didn't find the single-player all that hard in Blur (apart from a couple of races)... if anything, it was easier than some similar racing games I've played lately. Multiplayer, though... note to self, playing on the PC was a bad idea. Full of cheaters (infinite weapons and stuff like that)...
