StarCraft II Reporting

Saying "in the competitive environment of StarCraft II you might occasionally stumble across unsavory behavior," Battle.net has instructions on how players can snitch on these unsavory types using the StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty client. They say: "If an opponent simply lacks sportsmanship, we suggest you block communication with that player through the in-game message log or by right-clicking on their character name in the Battle.net menus and selecting the block option. However, if someone seriously crosses the line, we encourage you to help us set them straight." They go on to outline how to notify them about bad behavior, giving examples of their game policies against spam, harassment, real-life threats, inappropriate names or map content, and cheating.

Remind me when it did work?

When the kids didn't know how to reset their IP address. Or when the ISP assigned one to you and you had to pay to change it.

In the lower leagues this is certainly true. I recommend you ignore the immature players and just play your game. Eventually you will move up the ladder and encounter more reasonable opponents.

No offense but what a load of crap. The higher you go, the more arrogant and sperging the players are. About the only difference is that you'll see more faux politeness when you win or lose.

Query : sperging?

Will be better when chat rooms are in and blues people can vs each other. Never understand when 2.0 of something has less then the first version (applies to all updates in life).

Apparently. I only played in the "practice league" and got bitched out for not being awesome. Yes, yes I am a noob. Hence why I am practicing. Why the fuck are you here, your awesomeness?

I guess playing for fun is out. You have to memorize strategies and read guides just so you can hold your own.

I've avoided multi-player just for that reason. Funnily enough I won the only practice league game I played. I figured I'd get one of those pro's playing on the noob league. So I built up my forces as fast as I could wanting to at least put up a fight. Turned out the other guy was a lot worse than I was, I felt bad

It's only serious business if you incur the wrath of the Penalty Volcano.

Heh. Don't let a few idiots ruin the game for you. Play it the way you want. You don't have to answer to anybody on there.

I've been playing on a fairly regular basis along with some friends and I'm doing it just for fun. It's a competitive game, though. If you play a vs. match, one team has to lose. You have to play better than your opponents if you want to win.

Memorizing strategies should come naturally as you play, learn from your mistakes, and develop your game. Reading guides can accelerate that development, but it certainly isn't necessary. I've watched a few videos on YouTube, gotten some tips from friends (who are way better than me), and the rest has just come from playing.

You know, the Penalty Volcano would actually work if they stopped giving people so many warnings. One warning per account then just go up one at a time. The honest people will panic and stop. The dishonest people will end up buying many accounts. It's too bad IP blocking doesn't work anymore because that would have been a great scare tactic.

And in only a few short months they will take care of the spammers, cheaters and hackers in one big wave. And a week later their box sales will skyrocket for a bit.

It's in their best interest to ban people, but not to keep them off their services permanently...although you know they could easily do so.
