Indeed. Besides, I'm completely cool with playing Geralt. Did you even play the first game? Geralt has amnesia, so it's basically a fresh start anyway.

I haven't read the books... but is there a reason that most girls he shares a bed (or alley) with are redheads?

Illusion of choice about decisions since we are deciding for Geralt and not Role Playing our created toon. Who is say, wondering in this game world as a starting Witcher on an adventure looking for or to aid Geralt OR even just as a Witcher in the World.

All they were doing in the video, she was giving her description of escape if you leave from main exit and he was giving description if you leave through the dungeon. Just because you can choose to go path A or path B doesn't take away the fact your playing a predetermined character not one you created.

No choice about Gender, looks, personality or to define your toon outside Geralt.

Defiantly getting this on day one and sure it will be a good game, it's just there's a much better game possible here.

Works are generally translated because of demand. My guess is that there was no English demand for the Geralt books prior to the publication of the game.

You would be wrong. The book deals have already been done (for the first three books in the trilogy) in advance. So there is no justifiable reason for the wait. The company I work for does publishing and distribution (among other things) in my country and these books sell like hotcakes. No one has any idea why Gollancz is releasing these books so far apart, least of all the people at Gollancz. I think the translation would be at least part of the reason.

Good trailer, and that ending was pretty funny, LOL.

The original Witcher is hardly an RPG, its basically an action adventure game with RPG elements.

You play a predetermined character, with a predetermined class. Like someone already mentioned the combat is pretty much set in stone. Im not saying its a bad game, but a cRPG it is not.

Hey man, the second (and last for now) English translated book gives the impression that Ciri might become a Witcher still. Don't you spoil it for me!

There's a great world and setting within The Witcher, my biggest disappointment is we are FORCED to play Geralt. I would much rather RP a Witcher from scratch, whom was seeking Geralt.

After reading the first 2 translated books (after not reading any books for a long time) I'm finding myself more excited for the next translation but that's not until April 2011!

I really like this trailer. Good story, great atmosphere and characterization, visceral swordplay. Excellent ad for the game, really makes me want to buy it.
