Dragon Age Witch Hunt Patch

The BioWare Social Network has a new patch for the Witch Hunt DLC for Dragon Age: Origins, BioWare's role-playing game (thanks Big Download). Here are the patch notes:

  • When importing from a post-game save, your conversation with Morrigan in the Witch Hunt module will properly reflect the choices you made in Dragon Age Origin's "Dark Ritual" plot.
  • The game will automatically save after Witch Hunt's final cutscene.

How about patching the main game and fixing all those bugs that were introduced from the last couple DA:O patches?

I waited to buy this for the patch, to contribute to a hopeful sales bump after they fix the content.

It's a shame that Bioware completely dropped the ball with DAO DLC. Apparently the last two DLC for ME2 were good, whereas reviews for the last two DAO DLC have been terrible.

And Dragon Age is really set up better for DLC, but they all sucked. It's a mystery.

I couldn't even get my "free" DLC that came with the game to work properly, The stone prisoner fails to put the location on my map for the quest and my blood dragon armour just didn't show up.

A bit of googling reveals these to be common problems and despite a lot of messing around, I could never fix them.

What do you think the chances of me actually paying for some DLC is?

That sounds user specific Mostly_Harmless but regardless it's relatively easy to fix assuming you're on a PC. You can email me through the board if you want help with it.

DLC sucks. End of story. With that said I just have to say that Im playing through Dragon Age again and Im having a blast. Is the expansion worth the cash?
I have a nifty blue line!

I got the digital deluxe version so the "free DLC" (if you want to call it that) worked.

That said... I didn't buy any further DLC and I have no interest, since most of them seemed to be garbage.

I also have no interest in DA:2, since they took away creating your own character.

I don't know why, but it seems Bioware took a good game / franchise and then somehow "managed it" into the ground.

They're not taking away character creation, just the "origin story" concept. You don't get to choose a hastily-explained backstory that may come up again for another five lines of dialog in the entire rest of the game.

Most of the DLC was garbage for Dragon Age. Even the expansion was buggy and a bit short for the money. Mass Effect 2 had far better quality DLC, at least in terms of Operation Overlord and The Lair of the Shadow Broker.

Open a ticket with EA. That's what I did. It's still sitting there in "unresolved" status (for the past 10 months.)
"Our partnership with EA will make everything better!" - Ray 'Delusional' Myzuka.

Anyways, it can usually be resolved by deleting the appropriate folders from your DLC folder, and redownloading the content. I finally got the .dazip files from somewhere and manually installed them before they worked.

Btw, Bioware. When are you ever going to patch this exact same issue in the actual game itself? For that matter, why do you keep having the same bugs over and over again?

Yeah you can google for the links, they are actually availible from the official website, and there's a built in tool in the DA folder to manually install DLC that can help. Some of the DLC is protected, but it gets unencrypted when you login.
