Civilization V Live Video Stream Today

Civilization V Website has details on 2K Games' plan to show off the upcoming turn-based strategy sequel in a live video stream this afternoon. Word is: "Well, I have heard your requests and have decided to show you how the game looks in action in the best way I could think of: A 2-hour live stream of the game during which Garrett Bittner, our Producer for Civilization V, will be there to answer your questions while I play through a game!" This all gets underway at 4:00 pm EDT today, on the 2K Games Live, Ustream.TV Channel. Thanks Ant via Voodoo Extreme.

PC Gamer fluffed the hell out of this game in their review. Seems pretty awesome.

the game is obviously 100% done...just release the demo already, there's enough hype around the game that any more PR is unnecessary.

to the pirates out there, please just buy this game, it seems the company really did their best to accommodate the PC platform (the game's ONLY platform). We want them to keep making great games. Thanks!

There are no "pirates". There are only unserved, potential customers.

So, if the game is good and (!) popular enough, it will sell enough. And Civilization IS very popular. 2K will make enough profit and we will see a Civ VI.

And people, who leech every game, never buying anything, will never be customers. There is no harm in private file-sharing.

Yeah, but there's middle ground between people who always buy and your people who leech "every game."

How big is that middle ground? Who knows? Simple fact remains that if piracy was impossible then sales would increase. I just question whether they'd increase enough to warrant the witch hunt.

Of course, I think many publishers question that as well. Their fear isn't lost sales now, it's an increasing acceptance of piracy, combined with an increased ease of piracy, turning more people into the "leech every game" type.

It stands to reason that a public torrent is anything but private filesharing But i agree, there is no point in trying to fight the methodological and often compulsive warez harvesters. Its like the famous Messy Syndrome but instead of junking their home, pirates junk their many TB of storage space with crap they never play and stuff they play once and drop it a day later again.

But unlike junking your home, your storage only exists for that reason - to be filled.. sometimes i think thats a self-fulfilling prophecy - more storage, faster Internet makes pirates just more compulsive and determined to create large archives. Other people, the ones making the cracks and racing the releases are likely just as compulsive and caught in the spiral of Supply because of Demand - But if the Supply stops, the demand increases ten-fold so Supply starts again, this time even more determined.

Fighting Piracy is like trying to fight capitalism

Sry, my bad. I meant non-commercial file-sharing in relation to the "real" software pirates who sell unlicensed copies. HERE, and only here is damage in lost revenues.

Nice! I'm anxious to see this game in action. There was a preview on some website recently that seemed like little more than a play by play of gameplay, looked very nice. I am very curious to see more of the combat. Looks like combat is less about stacking units and more about using your territory to defend? Looks cool, can't wait to see more.

The demo would be a lot better.

Are you utterly brain dead? a bunch of people who do nothing but steal every game and pay for nothing is "not harming" anyone.

People You are getting more dumbed down, more ammoral by the day. The problem is there ARE MORALS and STEALING IS WRONG and IT DOES HURT PEOPLE. and one day you will suffer the consequenses regardless of what modern ethics and morality are successfully convincing you otherwise.

Meh I learned my lesson with Civ3. If they want my pre-order they best release a demo. I trust few professional reviewers or even average joe reviews on this type of game.

I only bought civ4 after they came out with the gold version that included colonization or whatever.

Did the crazies just roll up in a van or something? Why is anyone talking about piracy? There some big conspiracy to pirate this game or something?
