Or could it be some people get ticked off if someone tells them to buy something for more than they could get it for elsewhere with no tangible benefit?

Now Divebomb just showed me a better deal on Impulse which saves me a few dollars over the Steam deal...so now I'll look at Impulse.

Some people really tick off fast if their holy grail is criticized...

Ordinarily I'd say yes...but what are the extras I get on GOG? All I saw were wallpapers, manuals and avatars as extras on GOG. Nothing I'd say that was worth me not getting it on Steam. What did I miss?
For 19.99 on Steam I get both Gothic 2 and 3 in a bundle.
I will certainly buy Gothic 1 from GOG...I can't get it on Steam anyway.
I don't know man, Gothic 3 is $15 on it's own, I would say the extra $5 is so worth it for no DRM that it's insanity to do otherwise, but I am not everyone and people are not the same. If you don't care about such things then of course do as you like.
the game world feels a lot more realistic and awesome in gothic3 because of this.

Steam's DRM is not a problem for me so it means nothing apart from me buying the game somewhere else than I'm accustomed.
Even if Steam's DRM was not a factor for you I would still think no DRM + extras is a better deal than DRM with no extras, wouldn't you say?

Don't buy in the shops mentioned in this article, not if you're in Europe. They're incredibly expensive, especially JoWooD and Steam!
Try Amazon instead.
Pass, can't support a publisher who steals IPs especially from one of the best independent RPG makers around today.
