Nice to see M&B Warband doing well. Perhaps the best indie game ever.

Sure, Mafia 2 looks great and runs well enough, but it would of been nice if we had more game to play. Not deserving of #1 spot in my opinion.

It has a ton of gameplay, did you even play it? The last half of the game is shootouts or chase scenes one right after another.

Mafia II is one hell of a great ride! It deserves #1 in my opinion. I just hope we get some DLC for it, because I'm buying it!

These are sales rankings, not qualitative analysis of the games. It deserves the "#1 spot" because it had the most sales.
Do you have a single fact to back that up?

I agree Mafia is a great game, but highly point A to B to C, rinse repeat each morning. I too would have liked more side things to do besides buy clothes, and sell cars.
But story wise and ending wise the game was a great ride. Even though I hated/loved the ending.

Finished the game in 10 hours on hard and there was no challenge to it at all thanks to regenerating health. I'm an angry man.

Yeah, regenerating health I agree does spoil the game. I think that it shouldn't be on the hard difficulty mode.

To be fair, your health doesn't regenerate completely and on Hard, it only takes a few hits for you die. I've died several times throughout the course of the game. The game is definitely easier than the first one but it's not a total pushover.

However, I do agree that the lack of side-missions is disappointing. I'm pretty sure the original game had at least a few side-missions, whereas Mafia 2 has absolutely none. They made a huge, wonderfully detailed city but didn't give you much to do it in aside from the main story missions.

Argh. I was just about to ask about that. I'm going through the missions like butter, and keep wondering if there's ANYTHING else to do.

Sigh. It's a pretty good game, but why do you make such a detailed city and not give anyone ANYTHING to do in it?

They are saving all the side missions for paid DLC of course....

Mafia 2 blows. 10 chapters done and I can't take it anymore. I'd rather play any game I like again than play Mafia 2 once.

I bought it off Steam. So ya, I'm part of that number one. And ya, again, it blows.

I'm playing through the story of the original right now and there has been no side missions. I'm on chapter 10 and it just goes from one chapter to the next without any breaks to do anything else. I think the only "side missions" that are available are those that come with the extreme free roaming mode that is unlocked after you beat the game.

I don't get this at all, what exactly don't you like? The game has a demo and everything, why did you buy it if you didn't enjoy the gameplay? I think it's the first PC action game I've played in ages that did everything right. It's also an outstanding PC version.

Meh... it's a linear story, side-missions don't make sense. 14 hours is plenty of gameplay and the city is there to enrich the experience (and it does a great job of that).

Also the only side-missions the original had were the favors you do for Lucas to get more cars and there's only like three of them, all of which are quick and pointless.

You can have both a linear main story and standalone side-missions. That's what other open-world games do, along with every RPG ever made. In the context of Mafia, the side-missions could be random tasks that your boss provides. There are several cinematic montages that show these random tasks. I don't see why they couldn't be turned into actual missions, especially given the game's lengthy development cycle.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Mafia 2. However, the lack of side-missions is still disappointing.

The world of Mafia2 begs for more content - more interaction with the highly-detailed world with a free-roam sandbox mod or DLC.

COME ON - DON'T WASTE IT!
