unless you can support your claims with objective facts and reasoning. If you don't even recognize the subjectivity of your own moral code, you should probably take a step back and contemplate for a while.
You ever try and talk to an individual who is extremly racist? Or maybe someone who is SO far left or right that they ignore even the most obvious of common sense items?
The conversation is a lot like "talking" with Syd.
It goes no where quickly - as their reality is distorted on so many levels that they are actually unable to think rationally. Most importantly (and nailed by many) - their sense of entitlement is so far off base - that it is used as a valid reason for almost EVERYTHING. I see more and more of it everyday. More so in Gen Y and earlier kids because some of their parents from Gen X have a victim attitude in relation to whatever "tough times" they went through that they aren't adult enough to work through correctly.
It is at it's worst in the city and 'burbs. I do enjoy going back home and being with family/friends/community and around people that work hard for what they have and if they don't have - they work harder.
I mean shit - how the hell did we ever live!? *sigh*
My guess is Syd is early 20-something, some college but not graduated, moved back in with parents in the burbs and they provide him with more than what he needs to survive.
