Hope the game sells millions - these guys deserve it for doing it right on the PC. It'll be a few days before I get to try it out myself - I've become engrossed in the original that I received for free with my Steam pre-order.
I wasn't going to weigh in on the piracy thing, since this thread should be about how great the game and 2k are, but after reading all of this for the umpteenth time, I thought I'd give my perspective. Put simply, it's that I shake my head at all of the haughty moralistic lectures by the vehement anti-piracy crowd. Lecturing people in that way simply will fall on deaf ears. Is your goal to simply insult the person who pirates? What good does that do? They've heard it all before a million times. I would think it would be far better to have an even dialog with the person, trying to understand what compels them to take something someone put countless hours of work into for free, and encouraging them to pay for the game at some point. Just like my teenager is going to do whatever he wants in spite of all my high brow lectures of wisdom and reason, pirates are going to ignore all of your posturing and moralizing. Better to coax out of them what they think the game is worth and try to convince them to at least pay for the game at some point. 20 or 30 bucks is better than nothing to a developer.
Who knows - get them in the habit of at least paying at some point for the games they download and maybe they'll even start paying full price for some of their games. Just my 2 cents.
"The assumption that animals are without rights, and the illusion that our treatment of them has no moral significance, is a positively outrageous example of Western crudity and barbarity. Universal compassion is the only guarantee of morality."
