maybe you mean to say it is used by rich armchair pilots who can afford to create their own cockpit setup for playing this game. i have visited the factory of a major manufacturer of flight training devices in the US. they cater to universities and community colleges in addition to the civil and military customers. they dont offer MSFS.

I've always been a huge fan of MSFS. I hope I can turn off the "dumbed-down mode" and go into pure 100% hardcore sim like MSFS was.

MSFS used in flight schools? It's not even an FAA certified simulator.

By Windows-exclusive they mean that on PC it will be Windows-exclusive. The Windows version's outsourced to a team in Lower Elbonia, it's gonna appear 18 months after the Xbox-exclusive, will look worse, be riddled with bugs and every on screen piece of text will talk about Xbox Live and the 360 pad.

But hey, you can always play Age of Farmvilles while you're waiting.

Games ending with "Simulator" in their name feels so 1980s and 1990s. I can see why they dropped the moniker.

I dont get it. How can you have a flight sim with no 'sim'?! Unless you get to dress your pilot up in different outfits & deal with his/her moods/wants/needs/ lol

This is gonna be nothing more than a 'camera' flying around a pretty landscape with no simulation of aerodynamics whatsoever. Kinda like Ace Combat without the combat. Yaay kids!

I'd save that money if I were you. I don't think that they have removed the "simulator" part from the title accidentally. In fact I'm pretty damned sure that they did that fully on purpose to distinguish this new and accessible flight game from the sims of the past.
I am also sure that they don't give a rat's ass about the industry that is based on the sims of the past. If anything then they might be making a few bucks from the add-ons because of licensing fees but why would MS care about the hardware (when they have shut down their gaming peripheral division at a time when MSFS was probably near the pinnacle of its popularity) or the communities (when they have shut down their pretty popular "Zone" service)? Trust me. They don't give a fuck.
MS Flight as a part of their "Live" crap is going to be to MSFS what Windows Live Mail is to Outlook 2010. If that.

It's a new perspective, it's accessible, welcome everyone to Flight console!

It will take a few more years for some of us to forget how M$ eliminated Aces Studio so they could 'envision' more multi-platform games that blow.

Watch that 'Windows exclusive' will change, and they will come out with a few words explaining it was in the fans best interest. It will change like Alan Lake changed, it will change Like halo changed, it will change like their exclusives always change to make more money.
It will not be "windows exclusive", watch how they lie so you don't have to fall for it.
