Word is: "The Bughunt Map Pack contains two new multiplayer maps for the six different competitive online modes; Deathmatch, Predator Hunt, Infestation, Species Deathmatch, Mixed Species Deathmatch and Domination, as well as two new maps for the “Survival” mode in which a team of up to four Marines fight to survive against the increasing horde of Aliens. We have some Bughunt screenshots and a Bughunt trailer, which is embedded below.

There isn't really any difference between a [open] beta and a demo these days.

Which is a shame, because I'm reluctant to buy any game that I don't already know I'm going to enjoy, and they complain about piracy on the PC!

Moral of the story: don't buy games without trying a demo first.
I hated the demo. Barely playable due to lag and poor optimization (it even had a bug that made your microphone always transmit when you were in the session lobby).
But then a friend of mine bought the game anyway, and it turned out the release version ran so much smoother than the half-assed demo, and I ended up buying it myself, and I don't regret it.

Then it wasn't really a 'demo'nstration of the final product. IE., a beta rather than an actual demo.

Bullshit.

You didn't like it, fine. You perhaps think it was rather shallow, fine. Unpolished crap? Bullshit.

Admittedly, I've barely touched the single-player mode, but I find the multiplayer to be a true gem. I've put a lot of hours into MW2 and BC2, and in comparison I definetly have more fun with AvP.
I admit that the race balance isn't perfect, but since they are so asymmetric it doesn't ruin the fun.

The biggest issue is the lack of population, partly due to fragmentation between dedicated/listen servers, ranked/unranked modes, etc. But most other good multiplayer PC games also have population issues.

These days even tryin g a demo 1st seems to be no indication if you will like the game at all. All you get to see is some visuals and feel the control scheme.

What HAS been proven is that ya can`t even trust a game dev team or publisher to NOT scroow over their own franchise.

Turning Point was an amazing concept in a boring "same old" WW2 cluttered time of games being released. That ended up being SUPER CRAP.

And Legendary never interested me, but from what I hear it was super crap as well.

If you think this game is unpolished crap I wonder what you would call something like Turning Point or Legendary.

The multi does suck... I enjoyed the singleplayer, at least the Marine and Predator campaigns... the Alien one was a little meh. Well, in comparison to great games all of them were meh, but the Alien and Predator IP goes a long way.

Yep, I still cannot believe I bought this game. The AI is the 'see you and run straight at you' type.
I was one of those people who bought this at full price, I figured- hey they first one was great.

Its horrible.

I bought the game for $24 on Amazon basically for the single player. It's not bad, but I am glad I waited and didn't pay full price. I tried the multi, but it was so laggy and horrible that there is no way in hell I would ever pay for DLC that is multiplayer only.

How about they give me 6.99 back or both map packs for free to make up for how abysmal this game was for the 50 bucks I spent on it.

i would love to see how many pc players bought that last pack...my guess is not many

it's such ashame this game got pushed out too early. too many bugs/balancing issues, early in the life of the game killed the community. the only way i can imagine to get this game pumping again is to make the dlc free AND to continue putting it on sale off/on over the course of a few months.

g'luck with that sega/rebellion...i know you are reading my comment
