Crysis 2 Trailer

A new "Cloak And Dagger" gameplay trailer from Crysis 2 on GameTrailers shows off some stealth gameplay from Crytek's upcoming shooter sequel, as well as some decidedly non-stealthy combat involving shooting everything in sight. The clip concludes with a boss encounter where stealth would probably have been a better approach. Here's the embedded clip.

This trailer, from the horrid "music," and the playstyle, reminds me of that old DNF trailer. :\

And is it just me, or .. no, it can't be. Shooters on consoles are annoying as FUCK to watch. I hate the way the view just sort of slides around, and it's annoying watching the guy try to aim at shit, especially near the end, where they were close up.

I hate consoles.

So I said to myself "let's bitch about it on bluesnews" just to realize that I'm not the only one who thought the "stealth" system in Crysis 1 was one fscked up POS. It completely ruined immersion.

Not just Crysis (which I admittedly haven't yet played.)

Far Cry did it. I remember crawling up to some high point, going prone through tall grass, and taking out my sniper rifle. Unfortunately, before I could even look through the scope all the guards would be firing on me. From 200 yards away. In the dark. When I'm on my stomach in tall grass. As accurately with their pistols as I was with a sniper rifle.

That, though, didn't kill the game for me as much as the time you had to fight 20 giant rocket mutants at the same time. I spent forever trying to put the chair in the door so I could go back inside for more ammo, which was cheap and took forever to work out but would at least last long enough for me to kill a third of those mutants, which would make it manageable.

The stealth aspect is somewhat ruined by the fact that you can't move dead bodies from the detection of other enemy soldiers.

Lol, I watched the trailer and that was the thing that immediately caught my eye. So I said to myself "let's bitch about it on bluesnews" just to realize that I'm not the only one who thought the "stealth" system in Crysis 1 was one fscked up POS. It completely ruined immersion.

No buy. Well, perhaps if they make a single-player Mechwarrior Living Legends for it.

Yup, that too. He didn't even have to aim @ the body to pick it up and throw out of the window. Console games are so very.. very forgiving. And I laugh when people argue with me that they are "actually more accurate" with a controller.

I only played the first half but it looks like they ported Mirrors Edge levels into the Crysis engine.

Wow, console gaming blows...

Look at the auto-aim, to me that would just feel pathetic and pointlessly easy.

That song is also incredibly bad, which I will now assault console players with poor choice in .... everything

I don't particularly find the alien invasion story interesting, hopefully they've got an ace up their sleeve for multiplayer.

One thing I do like is there are no crosshairs.

Iron sights or spam fire.

Meh. I want my jungle back. It's become another cookie cutter shooter to me being in a city. Not hyped at all for this one.
