I miss the days when games came with all of their content no matter when or where you bought the game and you could play it whenever and wherever you wanted.

I remember when I first opened Falcon 3.0, the size and detail of the manual intimidated me so badly I lost an inch of penis.

I don't always drink carbonated Mexican rat piss, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.

Seriously... nothing like rewarding the people who buy your game with less content! Yay!

Same for Steam pre-order exclusives, which they are running with APB and Civ5 right now... I like boxes and mostly buy on amazon, which makes me a lesser customer I guess and I get less content. Yay!

Anyway, the only incentive they could offer me to pre-order this is a crack for the DRM.

Clever.

The problem with Ubisoft's DRM and this title is that this is a multiplayer game and the DRM is irrelevant since you have to be connected to play the game. So this game might see increased PC sales because people will say that since they have to be online to play they won't mind the DRM.

Food for thought. And Ubisoft can go fuck themselves.

The story they told us when they closed all the stores was that they were going strictly online. I have a theory that they then became Newegg. It would make sense, since shortly thereafter Newegg came onto the scene.

Of course, I've heard tell that this isn't true, but I'd like to think so anyway.

Yeah I thought the same too.

"Newegg.com is not in any way related to the former Egghead.com, which was purchased by Amazon.com several years ago."

The company’s name derives from a Chinese belief that a new egg symbolizes a new beginning, Tong said. It’s an appropriate name, considering Newegg.com was founded in 2001 just as the dust was settling from the first e-tailing boom and bust.”

I remember the days when you bought a game, you'd get a box, physical media, and lots of neat goodies with it, like posters, a spiral-bound 300 page manual that included all kinds of back story, historical facts, etc...

Now, you're lucky if you get a working game.

You forgot the part where we had to walk in 2 feet of snow, up a hill, to Egghead Software.

I used to work there. >_>

I have little faith in this... cash in... that is getting half the build time that the previous two games got. It will be half the game at the same price... of course I play these on the console, I wouldnt touch any new ubi PC game with a ten foot pole. The announcement I'm waiting for is a package deal on the DLC for ass creed 2.

preorder discounts for giving a free loan and initial sale? no. have DRM instead + this free character unlock.
gotta love when companies give you nothing and pretend they are giving you something.

Seems pretty silly to pre-order something like this when you know Amazon, walmart, and toys r us are likely going to offer big incentives to buy the game at release. It'd rather have a $20 game credit than a free Harlequin.
