SEGA Genesis Games for PCs Next Month

SEGA announces plans to bring some of their 16-bit games from the SEGA Genesis to PCs via digital distribution. The first group of Genesis games will be re-released on June 1, and will include Golden Axe, Ecco the Dolphin, Comix Zone, and Vectorman, with all titles selling for $2.99 USD each. "It's exciting to be able to offer these classic games to a new audience," said Nick Pili, Network Business Director at SEGA Europe. "Delivered via our digital partners, every PC owner can now enjoy these timeless masterpieces whenever they want!"

No, it is YOU who have no fucking clue as evident by your idiotic "me too" post. The poster to whom I responded wasn't being ironic. He was disputing my point because he didn't catch my irony. He tried to save face by claiming his comment was ironic because he was agreeing with me. But, even if that were his intention, it was pointless. I already made the point (even using the same words). Mimicing me didn't make his post clever. It just made it redundant. He was just bullshitting to save face, and you are a fool for falling for his excuse.

With the dirt-cheap prices I'll gladly pay to own re-releases of these; 16-bit emulators just never feel quite right to me, though I imagine I'm just weird in that respect.

C'mon, Sega, gimmie Sonic CD and Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side.

Actually, as long as I'm being wishful, give me a new Eternal Champions on a current-gen system.

True, some of us have been playing Snes & Genesis games on emulators for a decade while others haven't got the faintest idea what an emulator is, but will no doubt fondly remember their favorite Genesis games. Can you guess which group Mr. Pili wants to appeal to?

True! I forget about all the noobs out there.

Nice try at a save, but no. You can't rebut my irony with the same ironic point. I already pointed out the ridiculousness in SEGA's PR statement. Even if you intended your reply to be some kind of ironic "me too," it's still redundant and pointless. There's nothing clever about it, and I already made the point.

Oh fuck yea Vectorman and Ecco the Dolphin. Two of my favorite genesis games. I already play them via emulators though, so I see no reason to purchase these though.

That's primarily what these old releases are about. Now they can claim damages against the emulator people, in addition to milking every last cent out of decades old games.

Yes, it's whole new audience because these games are so old no one who played them the first time around on the PC or Genesis is still alive and playing games on the PC.

Odd, I played them the first time around and I'm still playing games on the PC...

All these classic SEGA titles will be available from $ 2.99 but for a full list of all available titles and features, please visit www.sega.com

Perhaps the people writing the press release should have checked with the webmasters at sega.com - a quick browse turns up absolutely nothing.

Seriously, though.
Add online play via Steam and I'll buy in.(seconded)
