DCS: Black Shark Patch

The Digital Combat Simulator Website now offers a new patch for DCS: Black Shark to update the English edition of this helicopter combat simulation to version 1.0.2. Word is: "This patch adds multiplayer compatibility between the Black Shark and Flaming Cliffs 2. As such, either game can host a multiplayer mission that both products can fly in. Several additions and a few bugfixes have also been included in this patch." The download is mirrored on The Patches Scrolls.

...comparing them is like comparing apples to oranges. One is 13 y.o., the other is new, one is a study-sim, the other a gameplay oriented sim.

You guys missed my point completely...

I wasn't saying it was the death of LB2 as a game itself. I know all about the problems getting it to run on a modern machine and the differences between LB2 and Blackshark. I was only talking about the muliplayer experience...

But there is no problem getting LB2 to run on a modern PC....

Post your issues there (if any) and we'll help you getting it to run.

I play both LB2 and Ka50 but comparing them is like comparing apples to oranges. One is 13 y.o., the other is new, one is a study-sim, the other a gameplay oriented sim. Richard Hawley's (Flexman) Combat-Helo will be the nail in LB2's coffin once its released because it aims to follow in LB2's footsteps and improve the overall experience.

Is this ever going to make it to Steam?

I ask only because they said it would be on Steam approximately forever ago...

Getting shot down by a helicopter in the Su-25 would be humiliating. Looking forward to seeing it happen.
