Blood on

The good old gamers at now offer One unit whole Blood, which is what they are calling their Blood collection, which revives Monolith's stylized first person series in DRM-free form for modern systems. The collection includes the original Blood and Plasma Pak and Cryptic Passage add-ons, and word is: "Experience the madness in one carnage-soaked package! All the gore, all the unholy war! Zombies, gargoyles, hellhounds and blood-crazed hordes of horrors await! Crush loathsome evil of the mighty Tchernobog! Or condemn yourself to eternal damnation in this leviathan of unhallowed gaming action!"

Yikes, I had Shadow Warrior and Blood mixed up in my head for some seriously screwed reason (making my first reaction to the comments of 'great game' very confused as I couldn't exactly figure that that racist, pixelated piece of crap would garner fond memories from most gamers)...Anyway, once I had my head screwed back on straight, I realized the true identity of Blood and my reaction when from confusion to 'Meh...'...seriously, I sometimes think that you guys cherish certain games just for the fact that they're old, not available and not played - not because they had any real value. Now, now, don't get your panties in a bunch. I'm not saying they don't hold sentimental value for you personally, I just don't see the value of them in a general sense. Blood, IMO, was broken and confusing, especially considering it's competition at the time. Shogo was somewhat better, but suffered from an identity crisis. Really, and again - my opinion, the engine didn't come around (and still had some glaring problems) until NOLF. Now, that, I consider a bonifide classic, hands down, no argument. I remember that being a marvel, where you could here your opponents talking to each other before coming up on them plus the humorous dialog and rather well implemented FPS mechanics made it a true legend, for almost everyone...the second one was good too, though tried to do too much...
