I just amazes me how so many people here love claiming to be victims to corporations. None stop and think why corporations do certain things. None give the benefit of the doubt to see if a change is in their favor. They just scream "greed" and "evil" and "stupid."
Like I said in the other thread, it's like people here watch too many scifi movies and think corporations exist just to rape them. I won't lie, many corporations would if they could, but they're smart enough to know they can't. They can't take without giving. Why? If they do someone else will give and they'll be screwed.
$60, for a PC game, is absurd to me. I made the mistake with Doom 3 and it was a godawful waste of money. But Blizzard has ALWAYS done this. Blizzard feels that they give so much value (as many here agree) and so much polish (as many here agree) that they deserve a bit more upfront. Fine. I won't knock them for it, their games are much more polished and contain much more value. Neither of those are cheap. I just rather not pay it. I rarely pay $50 for my games, either, although I've been doing it more and more as $50 becomes closer to my standard impulse-by price for nearly anything.
Someone mentioned WoW bashing, and I've been doing that for 4 years here, haha. Don't get the appeal, it's not a game to me, it's a chore. A task about as much fun as homework. But whatever, people love it, I just don't get it. I also don't get Animal Crossing, which people love. And, for that matter, I don't really get RTS games, a genre I adored until Total Annihilation. People just have different interests (another thing often missed on every message board.)
