Out of the Blue

Frans points out that most European countries switched to daylight saving time overnight, so here are sympathies to our overseas brethren over the lost hour of sleep.

Mag, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. As far as I can see the downloads and activations are not a problem. You will need to deactivate copies before building a new system or reinstalling your OS I would assume. Though I just migrated from Window 7 RC to Windows 7 Professional and the game (Dragon Age) was on a separate partition and works fine from either copy last I checked.

You can even register your DVD keys and download a copy from EAs site if you break or lose the disc. Not bad as far as I'm concerned. Not that most of us will use the feature.

Wait, didn't that happen already a week or two ago?

Countries change daylight saving to suit these days we (New Zealand) start the last Sunday in September and finish the first Sunday in April.

Nope, I very rarely visit that site (maybe once in 3 months) because its focused more on console news than bluesnews.

There's a small chance it wasn't bluesnews, but I'm fairly certain it was.

As for daylight saving we go back this weekend, I think its been adjusted to give us 3-4 weeks more of daylight saving recently.

Blue:
I just had one of those fake antivirus popups (the kind that wants to install malware) that I'm pretty sure was from your site. I only had a couple tabs open (one was slickdeals which never has any kind of ads except some text ones like google) and one was your site.
I used taskkill to make sure it didn't install anything. On this new install of windows I haven't blocked your ads because of the articles I've seen about how it hurts websites (even though a significant percentage of the flash ads here like to take 100% of the CPU for periods of time), but something like that threatens my computer is making me seriously reconsider.

I was using a default install of win 7, with IE 8, with pretty much all default settings.

If I see it again I'll try to get info from it, but since I'm using IE for the moment instead of firefox its harder to get info about those kinda things.

What's the deal with downloads from EA? Can you download it again later? Some ridiculous activation limit?

I find it interesting that a rogue wave was responsible for the wreck of the Fiztgerald. I didn't think such things were possible on lakes. I'm also curious what Gordon Lightfoot will be changing in the song now. I don't see why, the original is as perfect as it needs to be. That song used to give me the creeps as a kid.

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy....

Really. We're already at the point where you could buy a new Blu-Ray for the price of two tickets.

Maybe but if they raise the price, it's just going to make waiting for the DVD look like a better option than it already is.
Huh? I'm sorry, I was thinking about cake.

We've finally got people back in cinemas! Gouge, gouge, gouge while you can!

Tbh cinema tickets aren't too bad as long as you don't buy any of the laughably overpriced crap while you're there.

The article mentions AMC, Regent, and Cinemark. As long as Regal doesn't go price gouging I should be in the clear, because I see 95% of my movies at Regals, 3D or otherwise.

A 3D matinee ticket here runs about $11, whereas a regular matinee ticket is $7. If I see them start asking $15 for a ticket, 3D or otherwise, I'll stop going to the cinema altogether.

Soo.. Now there'll be a 26% surcharge to "experience 3D" in a theater with sticky floors, screaming children, and people who talk/text their way through the movie?

Good luck with that.
