Out of the Blue

You may have noticed the forums here blew up a couple of times over the past couple of days, which was a side-effect of a fix Frans has been working on. It turns out that our threaded views were not threading properly, a problem that almost dates back to the 20th century. This has been fixed going forward, and has actually also been fixed going backwards, so that viewing older forum posts in threaded views should now work properly. Big thanks to Frans for some impressive work on this.

Weird, it's normal for me on IE8. The only thing odd in the last few days are a few messages about SQL discos on the site and forums being down for maintenance, but by and large everything else is ok.

That was just a tweak to the <H1> etc tags and the style sheets. A hard-refresh (hold shift, click the Reload button -- only in decent browsers) fixes that without restarting the whole browser.

Ah, much better. Thanks Frans.

I'm invoking meh as to Futurama. While it had it's moments, overall I never much cared for it though I gave it more than enough tries over the years.

And whilst I don't like the Cleveland show, and Family Guy is still hit and miss, American Dad has really grown on me, if for no other reason than Roger. His rampant alcoholism and costumes/personas are funny as hell. "I want more dizzy water!"

I have to admit that while I was a major fan of the show, I wasn't a huge fan of the recent DVD films. They had their moments but it seemed a little uneven.

Same. I loved Bender's Game, though mostly just the second half, driven by LOTR and D&D references as it was.

As I recall, the cast replacement was a short lived financial stunt. Shortly after announcing the possible replacement, it was announced that the dispute had been settled and the original cast would be returning.

Mind you, there might be one person that didn't come back, but most/all of the original cast should be back.

I thought the last DVD Movie they did was much better. They had a lot more going on than doggedly sticking to a single plot line.

I have to admit that while I was a major fan of the show, I wasn't a huge fan of the recent DVD films.

I felt exactly the same way. Initially, the idea of story arcs across 4 episodes sounded good, but it just seemed to drag on for too long, in most cases...

agreed

what concerns me about the new episodes is that the original cast may not be back. i remember seeing recently there were money issues. they wanted more to keep doing the voiceovers.

I've just recently added the first two seasons to my netflix queue. Gonna start adding all of the seasons to our home server.
I don't believe in a lot of things, but I do believe in duct tape.

Cool.

I recall hearing rumors about it having a shot, but I forgot any news that it was decided.

Hopefully they can keep up the quality.

Using Firefox here, and those MONSTER headlines are just not going away. They kinda scare me a bit, really
edit:
Ok, just a simple restart of the browser fixed it. Odd though. Never seen that before
