Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Ships, Day One Patch Released

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is now available in North American stores, announces Electronic Arts, quoting Game Informer saying the military shooter sequel "rightfully challenges Modern Warfare for the multiplayer crown." Word is: "Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has received worldwide acclaim for its intense first-person modern warfare, spectacular destructible environments and seamless multiplayer experience supported by dedicated servers." Also, the Electronic Arts UK Community Forum has word that they've already released a day one patch (thanks LittleMe), saying: "It's slightly less than 300MB in size. Assorted fixes, some perf improvements, fov controllable via Settings.ini (fov=55 default I think) and um some other things. More info later, it would be nice with some sleep now."

I think that's because the foliage isn't destructible. Rendering a destructible building may require a decent amount of CPU to determine what part(s) are damaged, etc. Also I think the urban environs have more polygons, objects, textures, etc..
Perpetual debt is slavery.
