Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Ships, Day One Patch Released

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is now available in North American stores, announces Electronic Arts, quoting Game Informer saying the military shooter sequel "rightfully challenges Modern Warfare for the multiplayer crown." Word is: "Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has received worldwide acclaim for its intense first-person modern warfare, spectacular destructible environments and seamless multiplayer experience supported by dedicated servers." Also, the Electronic Arts UK Community Forum has word that they've already released a day one patch (thanks LittleMe), saying: "It's slightly less than 300MB in size. Assorted fixes, some perf improvements, fov controllable via Settings.ini (fov=55 default I think) and um some other things. More info later, it would be nice with some sleep now."

Love it.

The performance is a good 30-40% better than the demo. VERY smooth for me, on pretty ludicrous settings.
The "feel" is a lot better than previous battlefields for the person to person shooting.

It is hugely detailed, the jungle maps are incredible.
I love how the city map I played started out as factories and warehouses by docks, but ended up a war-torn battlefield by the end of the map.
Only played conquest so far, I like how the maps flow with everyone spawning on anyone in their squad.

I'm hooked.
Too bad I got supcom2 downloaded and unlocked... couldn't launch it earlier. Now I won't try till the snow is melted.

(using 2x 260c216's in sli for 45-60 fps, everything on hi, 4xaa 8xaniso - tho I might turn it to 2xaa... at 1680x1050.... I like staying at 60.)

anyhow, I'm off to play s'moar.
(disclaimer: I also loved the rest of the battlefields)
