Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Ships, Day One Patch Released

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is now available in North American stores, announces Electronic Arts, quoting Game Informer saying the military shooter sequel "rightfully challenges Modern Warfare for the multiplayer crown." Word is: "Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has received worldwide acclaim for its intense first-person modern warfare, spectacular destructible environments and seamless multiplayer experience supported by dedicated servers." Also, the Electronic Arts UK Community Forum has word that they've already released a day one patch (thanks LittleMe), saying: "It's slightly less than 300MB in size. Assorted fixes, some perf improvements, fov controllable via Settings.ini (fov=55 default I think) and um some other things. More info later, it would be nice with some sleep now."

Not allowing preloading was a bad idea. I've been stuck with, "The steam Servers are currently too busy to process your request. Please try again in a few minutes" for almost two hours now, no doubt because of bandwidth bottlenecks. And so I can't even begin the download which I've been told takes a few hours as it is. Seems like some of the game features aren't the only thing to have taken a step backwards with this release.
