Stop Asking for BFBC2 Prone

A tweet by Battlefield Bad Company 2 lead designer David Goldfarb that's retweeted by the BFBC2 feed says that even if you stand on your head, they are not adding the ability to go prone in the military shooter sequel: "Fyi we will not add prone based on anything. You can stop asking now. :)"

The whole "can't camp/hide properly without prone" is kind of funny in this whole argument. The game already has people camping HEAVILY through most of the match. Attacking snipers will pop their heads over hills, or rocks, and give you almost nothing to shoot back at. Defenders can sit in so many places it will drive you insane. There is literally no other choice than to level everything if the defenders know what they are doing. You need to cut down the trees, blow up the walls, destroy buildings, basically everything that is destructible needs to be blown up if the defenders know what they are doing.

The best thing you can do with a tank is sit WAY back and blow everything you can see up. Knock down trees, blow up walls, take out fences, just level everything.

This isn't like earlier BF games where you had wide open spaces and prone was one of the only way so to make it harder to shoot you. Terrain and cover play a major role in this game. It's already incredibly hard to spot enemies, I wish there was some way to track how many times I've been killed from someone I couldn't see vs someone I could see. It would be at least 3/4 times I never see the guy till after I'm dead. (you get a close up of the guy who killed you watching him for a few seconds)
