Star Trek Online Head Start Program Update

The head start program for Star Trek Online is now underway for those who have preordered Cryptic's Trekkie MMORPG. There are some issues with players trying to unlock their Liberated Borg character, problems locating "other exclusive goodies," and problems with the account server earlier in the day. This page has an update on each of those three issues.

I'm personally enjoying it a lot. Yesterday was smooth. Today I don't know. I didn't have time to try playing until 20 minutes ago, where I learned the server had been down for 40 minutes. Just gotta find something else to do til it comes back up. I liked it enough during open beta that I went for the lifetime as well.
Huh? I'm sorry, I was thinking about cake.

Yesterday head-start was smooth as glass. Today however the exact opposite. I think I have played 20 minutes out of the last 2 hours and now can't even get logged in. I just hope they are ready for the deluge on the 2nd...

Been in since the start of Closed Beta and did the Lifetime subscription.

The game is very solid, they have addressed early boring content issues (Tutorial till level 11), and for the most part has been one of the solid Head Starts/Launches yet. But the real test will be Feb 2nd.

Only nagging issue is you have contacts that give you Bridge Officers. I have yet to actually get one from one of these contacts, but other then that and the Borg issue, it's solid.

kanniballl:

I played through the open beta, got to commander rank.

If you like ship combat, I think you will find this enjoyable. The ships are relatively deep and the space combat can be surprisingly fun, albeit a bit "grindy" (but hell it's an MMO). The ground missions are nothing to write home about however.

Any Blues users have personal reviews of STO?

I like the idea of piloting a Trek-verse starship, but I don't know if it's worth it.

The away missions, I don't care so much about.

I'd be alright with an Eve Online game, only with some of those trek ships, particularly the non Enterprise/Voyager hull designs.

Look on the bright side, they're finally making up for months of deadspace with no good games.

I think the issues are getting sorted just fine. Odds are they'll get fixed quickly since they are so few, and the launch will have close to no issues or none at all (aside from the day one rush).
Huh? I'm sorry, I was thinking about cake.

In before Wrist-Cutter with his typical "Cryptic = Epic Fail" comment.
Do you have a single fact to back that up?
