Huge RPG Bundle for Charity

DriveThruRPG.com offers a "mega-bundle of RPGs in exchange for a $20.00 contribution to the relief efforts in Haiti, and they are also matching $5.00 and $10.00 donations, all of which will go to Doctors Without Borders. The bundle, which they say is worth a staggering $1,481.31, is outlined on this page where we see that this is built on strength in numbers, as it includes 174 games. Word is: "There is no set date for terminating the donation efforts, though the bundle will only be available until the end of January." Thanks Ant via Boing Boing.

Maybe you should reread the offer then, they aren't exploiting anything for profit. All the donations go to Doctors Without Borders. Basically you donate the $20 and you get all the RPGs as a gift thanks to the very generous publishers and DriveThruRPG/RPGNow.

Thanks for posting this, though I did see news start turning up on other sites later. I haven't played any paper RPGs in years, but I dusted off my old RPGNow account for this bundle the other day and I also spotted another bundle I'm interested in for Shadowrun sourcebooks. If it wasn't for being laid off right now, they would have already made money off of me by getting me back to the site with this charity bundle.

The price is a little misleading (That would be the price in print of all the things, not the pdf prices, plus some publishers seem to keep their stuff perpetually "on sale" to make them seem like better deals), but still, even trimming out most of it as filler, theres enough gems in there that more than make it worth the 20 dollars... The Serenity RPG, 3:16, Summerlands, Chronica Feudalis, Cortex, Damnation Decade, Shadowforce Archer, the World Works Games stuff, The Kerberos Club, Seven Leagues, and a few other things. Provided you're into pen and paper roleplaying.

The charity thing, eh, even if it's not your chosen charity, it's still a good deal.

From a sales pitch standpoint, if you are into pnp rgp's theres no way you could pass on that offer.

From a charity standpoint, .. its Haiti.

Even if we could magically make Haiti into what it was before (which is a terrible place to live in) in 3~ months the next heavy quake will come, and whats not broken now, will be broken then. And if Haiti somehow, survives till then, the storm season begins. (Which will turn Haiti from a broken hot hell, into a broken muddy raining and very stormy hell).

Guessing i have become too cynical

Well, the actual total price is probably a little inflated, but the WorldWorks Games products alone make it worth the $20. The downloads are working fine (once they got some server issues worked out).

Not to knock them, but is it me or does that offer look a little suspect?
