I didn't say otherwise, indeed, if shortsighted shareholders think going back to selling the annual rehash of Madden or Putting with Tiger Woods is the way to go, I'm all for it. Like I said, for the first time in a decade, EA has titles I'm buying. If they want to go back to shoveling crapware it will only save me money.

It has nothing to do with it. A company fucking up is a company fucking up and the stockholders have every right to complain.

Look at what they've done to Mythic... they've all but killed DAoC.

Obviously, EA should go back to the same draconian practices that made them the most hated publisher in the business, producing games I wouldn't even steal. Yeah, let's go back to that model, it will save me quite a bit of money.

I don't hate EA, but they did make a bunch of dumb decisions; closing good studios, missed the wii opportunity, killed off some good franchises, etc. Not surprised.

Shit. Getting the thumbs up from Michael Pachter is about as much of a death warrant as a coach getting the "Vote of Confidence" from a professional sports franchise owner.

That said, I fail to understand what Ricieieetleletelelo is still doing having that job. His tenure has been a nightmare for EA. And sure, he's tried to bring some new IPs to market, for which we as gamers probably should be grateful, but then again, this is the same assclown that transformed EA into a giant pit of fucking misery in the first place.

So, byebye John! I'm sure your 80 million dollar golden parachute will keep you and your family fed for a few months.

I can't see Disney shareholders being willing to spend billions more in cash to buy EA after already spending $4B to buy Marvel, especially since they'd be buying a company that's bleeding rapidly. I think by the end of this year, the focus will be on Activision because I think the only thing that's going to keep them from going deep in the red this year is WoW Cataclysm. All their other cash cow franchises are going to dry up this year (many are already calling the music game genre a dying one which Activision banked heavily on.) I think Bobby Kotick is going to end up looking more the fool this year for having no forward vision and simply riding the temporary wave of good luck he tripped and fell backwards into.

Have to say though, I bet Riccitiello is glad he didn't end up spending that $2B he wanted to buy Take-Two with.

I posted a Disney move a few days ago, I predicting EA getting bought out by Disney in 2010. The share holders are DEMANDING higher prices for games & a lot more crappy ports in general.../S
