PC Deus Ex 3 Follow-up [Nov 27, 2009, 1:34 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
The Eidos Forums have a follow-up to the vague report that Deus Ex 3 is to be a PC exclusive (thanks Joystiq). Here's word from Eidos-Montréal that suggests this is erroneous, though they don't quite come out and say that:
Only the PC version has been announced so far. The magazine coverage we had last year were all PC: Joystick (France), PC Zone (UK), Gamestar (Germany), PC Guru (Holland), PC Powerplay (Australia), Total PC Gaming, etc. I dunno where that website is getting its info from!
I'd be happy with something that was designed for the PC from the ground up rather than a console port. "Exclusives" are hardly exclusive these days anyways.
There will be console version - that is inevitable. However, that doesn't mean the game can't still be exceptional on PC, as Dragon Age: Origins demonstrates.

Sounds like it is PC focused but will, either later or at the same time, be ported to consoles for money. As mentioned, just like Dragon Age.

They might take the Dragon Age route & I would be fine with that. Basically Bioware designed Dragon Age as a PC exclusive title & the console ports were all secondary.
I thought the first two were great. As long as they don't let EA do their marketing and distribution, I'm sure the third will be just as good, and probably better.

No surprise here. Maybe it's just me, but I think the days of console-to-PC ports necessarily meaning they'll be shit are over. It's a simple matter of effort.

How could you never have that problem? The game's "zones" were split up into dozens of little mini-areas to accommodate the Xbox's memory limitations. It's part of the games design, not something affected by who has better hardware. Did you play the sequel?

Don't forget that a rocket and a pistol and a flamethrower all fired the same ammunition. This isn't because console gamers are dumbasses, it's because it's really neat-o!
Oh and locational damage? Who needs that. It's hard to aim for the head on a console!
Yes, IW had small areas, and it had bad loading times, and it had non-sensical universal ammo, and it was shorter... blah blah blah.
Every game has flaws, that doesn't mean the game was terrible. I quite enjoyed my time with IW and even played it again a year or so ago with the enhanced textures and still enjoyed it.

He probably meant that it never bothered him. They got to be just a minor annoyance for me, so that I could actually somewhat enjoy the sequel.
